Club Culture

We believe in promoting Gaelic and Irish culture through the Irish language, music and history.
We will be running Irish classes for beginners as well as conversational classes for more advanced learners and speakers of the language.
We try to use the Irish language daily throughout club life and activities and encourage players and members to use the Irish language whether it’s a few words or full conversations and engage with other Gaeilgeoirí in the community through Irish.
There will also be regular music sessions and in the near future we hope to run classes for learning to play traditional musical instruments which will be open to club members and the wider community.
As a club we promote celebration of Irish culture and history and have some events planned for the year to include trips and guided tours. Some of these will include visits to Newgrange, Navan Fort, Pearse Museum and Clifton Street Cemetary guided tour.
As well as this we will be hosting a series of lectures with guest speakers on topics ranging from GAA, 1798, the Famine and also holding documentary nights where we can gather together to watch some historical documentaries.
There’s lots planned for culture in Henry Joys and Mary Anns so follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and keep up to date with the latest news and culture events around the club.
